‘BLACK CAB is one of the cityscape paintings that I have created as part of my fascination with London. This artwork was painted as a component of my ‘London Gold’ exhibition in 2008. ‘Gold’ because I was celebrating the fifty years since I sold my first painting at an open air exhibition in the Thames Embankment gardens in Westminster. The primary purpose was to create a special portfolio of limited edition prints. I was born and raised during turbulent times and I have watched and experienced London in many moods throughout my lifetime. The architecture, history, and iconic importance of so many famous places is constantly inspirational. ’ CR
